The APi Group Care Factor Fund was established to help APi Group team members who are facing a financial hardship due to an unforeseen personal hardship beyond their control related to a child or dependent's mental health condition or substance abuse disorder.

Applications:
Applications to the Fund are reviewed by the Minneapolis Foundation and will be treated in a confidential manner; however non-identifying statistical information will be reported to APi Group on a periodic basis. Fully complete applications will be reviewed within five business days. Submitting an incomplete application will delay review.
Team Member Eligibility: A qualified team member of APi Group is an individual who is:
- An active, full-time (working at least 80%) team member of APi Group, including those on an approved leave of absence (non-FMLA and FMLA), who has been employed for at least one year.
- The team member's total household income must be less than 500% of the Federal Poverty guidelines.
- For Canadian team members, total household income must be less than 500% of the LICO guidelines.
- For international team members, household income documentation will be requested to verify the incident is a financial hardship.
Qualified Incidents:
Qualified incidents are unexpected emergencies that arise outside of the employee’s control and cause economic hardship for the employee’s family. A qualified incident is typically a one-time event that occurs unexpectedly and causes unexpected bills. The reported incident must have occurred within 365 days of the application date. To be qualified, the incident must be related to the mental health condition/treatment or substance abuse disorder/treatment of an eligible team member's child (age 28 and under at time of application), legal dependent, or child (over 28 with documented disability that resides with team member).
Examples of incidents that DO qualify include but are not limited to:
- New mental health diagnosis and related costs
- A development/change/increase in treatment for an existing mental health condition or substance abuse issue and related costs
- An unexpected treatment (in-patient or out-patient) and related costs
Examples of incidents that DO NOT qualify include but are not limited to:
- Routine medical or dental bills/expenses, including ongoing/regular visits to a therapist/mental health professional
- Mental health related costs or substance abuse related costs for the team member themself
